Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll recently suffered an accident causing him to miss the pre-season testing in Bahrain.

Following a biking accident, Lance Stroll suffered “minor” injuries not allowing him to take part in the pre-season testing in Bahrain.

Following this, Felipe Drugovich was called in to replace the injured Canadian. Drugovich drove the AMR23 for the three-day pre-season testing in Bahrain.

Many have been speculating on whether Stroll would be able to recover on time for the season opener. Regardless, the latest tweet from Aston Martin has indicated that Stroll might still be in recovering stage.

The tweet didn’t give a clear update on Stroll’s health but clarified that Drugovich is all ready to replace in case Stroll is unable to take the wheel for the race this week.

Before the confirmation, Drugovich spoke to F1 TV saying:

“I’m just preparing myself to be ready in case the team needs me, but also trying to help the team as well.

“Everything depends on Lance’s condition, so I’m going to be on standby just trying to be prepared, trying to get the most experience I can, just to be there in case he can’t race. But of course, we wish him all the best to be back soon.”

If Drugovich does replace Stroll in Bahrain, it will be three drivers making their debut Grand Prix in Bahrain. Oscar Piastri and Logan Sargeant are the other two divers making their debut season and race this weekend.
