Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll suffers an unexpected accident just before the pre-season testing starts.

In an update on Monday, Aston Martin informed about an unfortunate accident involving their driver Lance Stroll. The Canadian is all due to take part in his seventh F1 season.

The team didn’t clearly tell the nature of the injuries or how serious they are. However, it is clear that Stroll is ruled out of the pre-season test that starts this week in Bahrain. The team stated:

“Lance is however expecting a quick recovery and return to driving duties.”

Aston Martin also added that the side would give an update before the season kicks off in Bahrain GP.

Lance Stroll also provided an update on his situation:

“I’ve had an unfortunate accident whilst training on my bike in preparation for the season,” said Stroll, providing an update on his situation during the Aston Martin press release.

“I am determined to get back in the car and I am excited about the season ahead with the team. I am motivated to bounce back from this setback as quickly as possible.”

Aston Martin is yet to announce a replacement for the Candian driver. The side has two possible reserve drivers up for the role though. Formula 2 World Champion Felipe Drugovich and ex-McLaren F1 driver Stoffel Vandoorne.

Whoever replaces Stroll, it doesn’t matter. The Aston Martin team would eagerly want the Canadian to get back to his driver duties. It is important for the main driver to get the hang of his new car as soon as possible.
