Lando Norris took to his socials paying his tribute to team principal Andreas Seidl who will be leaving the McLaren side.
McLaren F1 team principal Andreas Seidl recently announced his exit from the team. The move came as a surprise unlike the exit of Mattia Binotto from Ferrari and Fred Vasseur from Alfa Romeo. These transfers have made 2023 a silly season not only for the drivers but the team bosses too.
Regardless, Seidl will be joining the Sauber Group as the Chief Executive Officer in 2023. This cannot undermine the contributions the German has given to the Woking-based squad. He has helped rebuild the team after several disappointing seasons.
McLaren driver Lando Norris also highlighted the departing German engineer by paying a tribute on his social account. Norris tweeted saying:
“Farewell Andreas!“
“It’s been mega working with you these last few years. I’ve never seen our team looking as strong as it is now and some of that is credit to the work you’ve done.“
“Best of luck in the new job mate, I’m sure I’ll see you around.”
Meanwhile, it is already confirmed that Andreas Stella will be replacing Andreas Seidl as the new team principal of the McLaren team. The Italian earlier worked as McLaren’s Executive racing director since 2019. Stella has worked with Michael Schumacher and Ferrari during their dominant years in Formula 1. He joined Ferrari back in 2000 to start his career in Formula 1.
After losing the fourth position to Alpine in 2022, McLaren will be looking to bounce back in 2023.
