Leandro Paredes deal to be hijacked by Liverpool?

Liverpool are interested in signing PSG midfielder Leandro Paredes this season to alleviate their midfield woes. According to a report by 90min, the Argentine player is on Jurgen Klopp’s radar. Leandro Paredes will most certainly leave Paris this summer. He is deemed to be a surplus by manager Christopher Gaultier. Moreover, Leandro was heavily linked with a move to Juventus this summer. Manchester United’s interest in Adrien Rabiot meant Juventus wanted a new holding midfielder in their ranks

Paredes started his professional career with the Argentine club Boca Juniors. Paredes then made a move to Roma on a loan in 2014. Then he moved to Zenit on a four-year deal in 2017. In 2019, PSG announced the signing of Paredes on a four-and-a-half-year deal. Following a string of dismal performances, the PSG board have allowed Paredes to leave the club this summer. Now, Liverpool and Juventus have expressed an interest in signing the player.

Liverpool have had multiple injuries in the midfield this season. Thiago and Naby Keita, are struggling with injuries and it seems unlikely that Liverpool can rely on them to be consistent. Hence, Liverpool must bring in some quality in the midfield to the team before the transfer window ends this season. However, Paredes is not the only player that Liverpool have expressed their interest in. Multiple reports had emerged of Liverpool considering a move for Frenkie De Jong and Konrad Laimer.

Juventus have almost completed the deal for Paredes.

Multiple reports in Italy have claimed that Juventus and PSG will complete the deal for Paredes very soon. Paredes will be another piece in the misfiled of Juventus which has the likes of DI Maria and Paul Pogba in it. Tuttosport has claimed that PSG and Juventus will reach an agreement over the player very soon. Juventus will make room for Paredes by selling Rovella and sending out Arthur on a loan.
