Leeds United looking to make a move for young PSG player

Leeds United have expressed their fervent interest in signing young PSG player Arnaud Kalimuendo. The 20-year-old is a product of the PSG academy and one of the top budding talents of Europe. Leeds is very interested in signing Kalimuendo as a replacement for Raphinha. However, PSG still haven’t decided if they want to sell the player or not.

Kalimuendo has scored in both the pre-season games in the pre-season for PSG. The 20-year-old has impressed the new PSG head coach Christopher Galtier very much. Moreover, Galtier is aware of the significant potential that the youngster possesses as a forward. Despite interest from Leeds, Galtier is reluctant to let him leave this summer. He prefers Kalimuendo to remain at PSG and fight for his place.

PSG want €25 million, Leeds ready to play the waiting game

PSG is open to selling the player if Leeds or any other club is ready to pay €25 million for the youngster. Kalimuendo is a long-term prospect and it is worth it for Leeds to hold out for the player due to his quality and his potential. However, Leeds are also on the hunt for a better deal in the market. Leeds are looking at other prospects in the attack such as Martin Terrier or Mergim Berisha.

Kalimuendo was a loan to Lens this summer. The Frenchman scored 13 times in 38 games for the side. Leeds United are lacking this finishing ability and quality after the departure of Raphinha. Moreover, the player has a similar profile as that of many prolific strikers. He is described as a “disgustingly good striker” by journalist Jacque Talbot. Kalimuendo will be a prolific sign for Leeds if they can secure him this summer. However, they have to find a host of suitors to land his signature this summer. Most notably, Lens are also another club pursuing the striker this summer.
