Liverpool show interest in Liam Delap

The Premier League leaders Liverpool are currently looking at Liam Delap for a potential summer move. The Ipswich Town striker is already linked with plenty of English clubs. As his side is fighting in the relegation zone, he is looking at other options for next season.

In spite of his side’s poor 2024-2025 campaign, Liam has been incredible for the Tractor Boys. They currently sit at 18th in the points table as of now. As a result, they are likely to get demoted this season.

The 22-year-old forward has managed to score 12 goals in 30 games this campaign so far. His goalscoring form has grabbed a lot of eyes from other PL clubs.

The Reds are in race to land the attacker this summer. Although, Manchester United are leading the race to sign the player, as per MailOnline.

The Ipswich player has a £40 million release clause. And it will be activated only if his club gets relegated. However, Kieran McKenna’s men have chance to finish above the red zone.

Additionally, there are no signs that the Reds are desperate for his move this June. But, he would be a good signing, should they manage to get him.

The Arne Slot’s side are into the market for a new striker. They are looking for a replacement for Darwin Nunez, who is likely to leave in summer.

Other possible exits include Trent Alexander-Arnold, Caoimhin Kelleher and Tyler Morton. Also there’s uncertainty about the future amongst Harvey Elliott, Joe Gomez, Jarell Quansah and Vitezslav Jaros.

So there’s a slight pressure to have homegrown talents in the squad. Delap could likely fit in that department, if he lands at Anfield.
