Barcelona legend Lionel Messi has recently spoken in an interview on former Barcelona coach Luis Enrique’s exit from Camp Nou.

Enrique had quite a time at Camp Nou, he was appointed as manager for Blaugrana in 2014. He then ended up winning Treble in 2015 including the Champions League. He won a total of nine trophies together with Messi. Both entertained the fans with spectacular football, they won one Champions League, Two La Liga titles, one FIFA club world cup, and one UEFA super cup.

Messi’s statement on former Barcelona coach

Luis Enrique left Barcelona at the end of the 2016-17 campaign due to some issues in his family. Messi has now recently opened up on Enrique in an interview (via Mundo Deportivo) He said:

“I came back from Argentina after the holidays and we played on January 2 or 3, I don’t remember well, and I ended up going to the bank and we had an argument that lasted a little while… but then we had a spectacular relationship until the last day, when he decided to leave and we told him to stay, not to leave, that we were fine.”

Lionel Messi thinks Luis Enrique is the best manager he got after Pep Guardiola, both had quite a bonding with each other. Sometimes arguments took place between them too but things got well.

This comes after Ronaldo bashed Erik Ten Hag in a recent interview saying he doesn’t respect him as a dutch manager doesn’t show respect to him.

Bonding between players and managers is important to win games and titles.
