According to reports by a Spanish reporter Eduardo Inda, Lionel Messi will not return to Barcelona while Joan Laporta is president of the club.

Earlier reports were suggesting that Barça’s president would do anything to bring back Leo Messi next summer when his contract expires.

Former Barcelona superstar would be willing to play for Barcelona once again after having to leave the club with a shocking move to PSG. Messi was ready to extend his contract with Barcelona in 2021, due to some financial issues he had to leave his teenage club.

But now speculations are being made about his return to Camp Nou. Barcelona’s financial issues have been somewhat resolved as of now. President Laporta would love to sign Leo Messi one more time.

Leo wants to return, but won’t if Laporta is there

Spanish journalist Eduardo Indo has bold claim about future of Leo Messi. He said:

“Leo wants to come back, but he won’t do it while Laporta is here. The reality is that he made an effort and they left him lying down ”.

Lionel Messi joined French giant Paris Saint German last summer. Unfortunately, his first campaign at Paris wasn’t so convincing as he only scored 11 goals and made 15 assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.

However, he’s managed to turn things around this year. Messi already has eight goals and the same number of assists in 14 appearances.

PSG are currently trying to extend its deal of Messi which ends in 2023. Reports suggest that Messi is not totally convinced about his life at PSG and is keen to return to Camp Nou. The Argentinian will make the decision about his future after the World Cup.
