Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister Sends Shockwaves: Anfield Exit on the Cards?

Liverpool sensation Alexis Mac Allister has recently revealed his desire to play for another club in future. The Argentine joined the Reds in the summer of 2023 from Brighton. However, the midfielder says he wants to play for Boca Juniors for once before he hangs up his boots.

The midfielder started his career at Argentinos Juniors before signing for Brighton in January 2019. Part of that deal saw him return to Argentinos on loan, and then he completed a loan to Boca the following summer. Although it did not last long as expected and he returned back just after half season. The Seagulls thought he was ready to play in the team and even made nine appearances in the 2019/20 season.

Alexis desires to play at Boca after Liverpool exit

The World Cup winner only featured in 20 games back then for his childhood club. His father played there, too, between 1992 and 1996, as well as Alexis’s brother Kevin. In fact, the two brothers were both on loan at Boca at the same time.

“I don’t like to promise that I will return because the reality is that there is still a long way to go, but anything can happen. Obviously, the desire is there, especially because my time in Boca was very short and I would have liked to be there more, but time will tell if I have that possibility and they give it to me.”

It looks as if Mac Allister has some unfinished business with the Argentine giants. No one should expect that to happen anytime soon though. Nonetheless, the 25-year-old does have his eyes on a post-Liverpool career. The World Cup winner’s Anfield contract runs until 2028 and can be extended for further years if his performance is on a rise following then.
