Liverpool and Arsenal may clash to sign Justin Bijlow

Arsenal and Liverpool had a great season with them finishing second and third in the Premier League. Both teams were involved in title race but unfortunately lost the title to Manchester City due to losing at critical stage. Jurgen Kloop who was loved by Liverpool fans announced his departure from Anfield and has been replaced by Arne Slot. There are some key changes expected to occur. Arsenal also have been reported to enter new season with some key changes. Recently both reds and gunners are linked with dutch goalkeeper Justin Bijlow.

What does Justin Bijlow thinks about Premier League clubs

Bijlow who currently plays for Feyenoord has been with the club since 2016. He began his career as outfield player before adapting as a goalkeeper. Bijlow made his professional debut for Feyenoord in August 2017. Due to his consistent performances, Bijlow soon earned a spot of regulat starter. He was then called up by national team. Bijlow made his international debut in September 2021 and has played 8 matches for Netherlands up till now. Justin Bijlow’s current market value is €13 million according to Transfermarkt. This season Bijlow has been superb in the Dutch league. He has played 17 matches in the league and has only conceded 14 goals. Although he was unable to play all matches due to injury, the Dutch international has kept 8 clean sheets in those 17 appearances.

When asked about a move to Premier League side Bijlow seemed pretty interested. He said that both Liverpool and Arsenal are very good clubs and that he is so lucky to be involved in the rumours regarding them. However the Dutch international also said that he is currently focused to earn his spot in Netherlands national team for Euro 2024.

Liverpool’s interet in Bijlow

Liverpool could make a move to bring Justin Bijlow to Anfield with the help of Arne Slot. Slot who just took charge of Liverpool will be very happy to introduce his former player into his new system. However Bijlow may not earn his place as regular starter soon as Allison Becker will still remain the first choice for the Reds. Caoimhin Kelleher who has played good amount of matches this season due to unavailability of Allison has impressed some top clubs. Celtic are interested to sign the Irish keeper and this forces Liverpool to look for his replacement. Bijlow can fit soon with the help of Slot but it all depends on wheter the dutch international wants to sit on bench or look for regular action.

Arsenal’s interest in Bijlow

Bijlow’s move to Arsenal makes more sense than Liverpool. The Gunners who are now serious title contenders need to sign a goalkeeper in this transfer window. Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu have been scouting some of the top talents across the Europe. David Raya who Arsenal have brought on loan played most of the matches this season over Aaron Ramsdale who was first choice keeper. The club could soon take decesion which may bring joy for one party but heartbreak for another one.

David Raya could be soon offered with a permanent move to Emirates. The Spanish keeper seems to have impressed Mikel Arteta. However his move will cost Ramsdale his regular spot just as we saw this season. Ramsdale seeking for regular action may be seen making his way away from North London. Newcastle United are reported to be interested in Ramsdale and maybe seen going for him in summer.

Justin Bijlow could be seen taking place of Ramsdale if he departs. Bijlow may not earn his spot as regular starter in Gunners squad too just as the situation we saw with Liverpool. If Ramsdale doesn’t leave, Bijlow will lose all hopes of playing a match and this may affect his career. So the final decesion will be based on wheter Bijlow will be interested to take place as second or third choice goalkeeper or not. The Dutch international currently is not worried at all and has his focus set on upcoming Euros.
