It was a quiet transfer window for the Liverpool football club as the Reds signed only two new players, including Federico Chiesa from Italian giants, Juventus. However, the Reds are facing problems with Chiesa as the Italian is suffering from an injury. Liverpool boss, Arne Slot, recently gave an update about the availability of Federico Chiesa for the upcoming fixtures for Liverpool.
Liverpool’s forward Chiesa is out from the squad due to injury
Chiesa joined Liverpool on the deadline of the summer transfer window from Juventus. He was one of the two signings that Liverpool have made in the summer transfer window. The other one is Giorgi Mamardashvili, who will join the Reds in the next summer. Chiesa made his Liverpool debut against AC Milan in the Champions League in which the Reds beat the Italian side 3-1. Then the former Juventus forward made his premier league debut against Bournemouth after coming as a substitute player. Then, finally, the 26-year-old earned his first goal contribution as a Liverpool player in the EFL Cup against West Ham United in which Liverpool beat the Hammers by 5-1.
However, Chiesa recently picked up an injury which raises questions about his availability in the upcoming fixtures for the Reds. He missed Liverpool’s fixtures with Bologna in the Champions League last week followed by the match against Crystal Palace in the Premier League. However, there were many rumors going on about his presence in the squad for the match against Crystal Palace.
Arne Slot’s statement over Chiesa’s involvement in the squad
Before the match against Crystal Palace, Liverpool boss Arne Slot was asked about his involvement in the squad, he said,
“[It’s] wait and see. He didn’t train for the last two days. “He came in today to see if he could train and if he can I still have a decision to make because we can only select 20 [players] and he hasn’t trained for a few days. But first of all, we have to wait and see if he can even train – and if he can then it’s our decision if we bring him to the game or not.”
But eventually, he was not part of the squad for Liverpool against Crystal Palace. For now, the football world will focus on international football. So, there will be no club football for this week. It is not fully clear when Chiesa will be able to back for the Reds. Till now Chiesa has been used as a substitute player by Arne Slot. However, it will be good for him if he gets back soon and before the start of club football after the international break.
More news about the Reds

After the international break, Liverpool will welcome Chelsea at Anfield in the Premier League.
