Liverpool Lewandowski, Six Sports

Liverpool are in the market for a forward in the Summer. With one either Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, or Sadio Mane leaving in the Summer, Liverpool desperately needs a forward. According to reports, Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has agreed on terms with Liverpool.

Lewandowski‘s contract ends in the Summer of 2023. Bayern Munich and Lewandowski has not yet made terms on a contract deal hence, the striker will likely leave Allianz Arena. Earlier, Barcelona reportedly had agreed on terms with Lewandowski. However, They hadn’t decided on whether they wanted him this Summer for a low fee or the next year for free. This confusion has made it possible for Liverpool to swoop in.

Lewandowski is not over!

Lewandowski who turns 34 next year had some things to speak about when asked about his future. He believes he has a lot more to offer.

He said,

“At my age, some footballers are already thinking about how they will end their careers. But I think that I can take further steps and still improve.

I love football and want to be able to play as long as possible and at the highest level. The big challenge for all professional footballers remains to cope with the intensity on a mental and physical level.”

Should Liverpool go for him

Robert Lewandowski is one of the greatest modern-day strikers. He has been someone who has been in the Ballon Dor shouts in the Ronaldo-Messi era. He almost won the Ballon Dor last year coming in second to Lionel Messi, However, he did win the inaugural best striker award. Lewandowski produced one of the finest individual seasons in world football in 2020. However, he was unlucky not to win the Ballon Dor that year as French Football had canceled the award that year.

Lewandowski is turning 34 this year, however, he has been in top form this season as he has been for the last decade or so. Liverpool would get a good striker in the form of Lewandowski however the only concern with him would be his age. Liverpool should try to sign the forward for a short-term deal, 2 years at most. Lewandowski has played under the Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp in their time together at Borussia Dortmund. Klopp would be happy to work with the striker once again and Lewandowski is most likely to reproduce his form at Anfield.
