Liverpool fears their Director of Research Ian Graham could quit and move to Manchester United with Michael Edwards.

Data recruitment expert Graham resigned from Liverpool in June. Currently, he has a 12-month notice period that ends in May 2023. Graham has been at Liverpool since 2012. He played a key role in Red’s transfer dealings over the last few years.

Liverpool are growing fearful that Graham might be on his way to join their bitter rivals Manchester United along with former Liverpool head of recruitment Michael Edwards.

Big Blow for Liverpool

Losing Graham would be a big blow for the Reds, but to lose him to Premier League direct rivals Manchester United will be an even bigger disappointment. At present, Liverpool is at 6th rank in the Premier League table and still struggling with their form.

According to a report, the Red Devils are still in a position to reach an agreement with Edwards, after making him an “enormously attractive offer”.
Graham worked under Edwards at Liverpool and had a primary focus on recruitment and player analysis.

As Manchester United struggled to find any kind of stability in recent years, it is important to change the club’s infrastructure.

Many players brought in for huge transfer fees have not proven themselves on the field, so improving recruitment must be a priority for the club.

Hopefully Graham can be that man at Manchester United, as he proved during his time at Liverpool.
