Liverpool went after a new player in the last days of the transfer window.

Liverpool had several players on their radar. However, Caicedo was the one who the Reds wanted the most. Caicedo is a consistent performer for Brighton. He has put in fantastic performances for Brighton and was declared the Man Of the Match on multiple occasions. Consequently, he was a good fit for the Liverpool squad. However, manager Graham Potter put a price tag of £100million on his most important player. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Potter said:

“You’d probably get his boots for that (£42m) from the chairman – maybe! £100m? They can try.”
“As soon as you do research on him you realise he is a top kid, great person, young, playing in the Premier League, has all the attributes to play at the very, very highest level.”
