Liverpool earned £105million in prize money from their run to the Champions League final last term, Football Insider reveal. Liverpool earned a whopping £105 million from their Champions League run in the 2021-22 season, as confirmed by a report by Football Insider. This staggering amount includes the prize money from the competition as well as the income from the TV rights and gate receipts from the home games.

Their incredible run to the Champions League final last season saw them secure this amount. Even though, they lost in the final against the 14 time champions and giants of Europe Real Madrid. This run was a delight for the fans within itself. Liverpool had an incredible season in 2021 where they only lost by 1 point to city on the final matchday in the premier league.

Can this amount help Liverpool in the upcoming transfer window?

The Reds managed to earn this amount in various ways. They earned £13.7m as a starting fee before a ball was kicked, and another £20m from their coefficient ranking. Moreover, a further £15.7m was added from the market pool. It is distributed in accordance with the proportional value of the TV markets represented by individual clubs. Furthermore, they earned the highest possible amount in performance bonuses – £15.9m – from the group stage thanks to their six straight wins.

Liverpool have faced a very tough task in this season. They have struggled to win games even against the bottom teams. Jurgen Klopp, the reds manager has been under a lot of pressure for his team lack of consistency. And he would definitely look to strengthen his squad in the next season. It would be no surprise if Liverpool sign some star players next season. The £105m won from reaching the Champions league final will definitely come in handy for Klopp.
