Liverpool is now the number one team to sign Bento

Reports claims that Liverpool is back as the frontrunners for the signing of Brazilian goalkeeper after Inter Milan refused to pay €15 million asking price to Athletico Paranaense for the player.

Instead of signing the Brazilian goalkeeper, the Italian giants have invested their money to sign Genoa’s Spanish goalkeeper Josep Martine, the club bought him with the aim of him being the long term No.1 after a long time.

Buying another goalkeeper means that Inter is no longer interested in signing Bento, which means Liverpool can push now to sign Bento from Athletico Paranaense, they need to push hard if they want to sign the player as they are not the only one in the race to sign the player, Benfica and Sporting CP are the clubs is also looking to sign the player according to some trustful reports.

Other than the three clubs mentioned above, there are two more English clubs who are also looking to sign the player and all the clubs are pushing hard as soon as they got to know that the deal between Inter has gone down.

Liverpool is pushing hard to sign Bento from Athletico Paranaense

Inter backed out of the deal and refused to pay the price to sign the player made the 25- year-old player mad on the club, he was interest to sign a long term deal with the Serie A giants.

Bento is hoping that some club should try to sign him and he will accept any kind of offer he gets, because if no club came to sign the player did not met with the demands of the club then he will be forced to stay at Athletico Paranaense.

The Brazilian international was the first choice in the national team above the Liverpool’s first goalkeeper Alisson Becker against England at Wembley and spain at the Bernabeu in the March friendlies. 

The Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has accepted the competition and welcomes any kind of competition he gets and is ready to fight against Bento in the Brazil national team, declaring that he is still one of the younger ones.

He also said that he is at the peak of his career, Brazil has many strong goalkeepers both locally and internationally. It keeps the competition running and it also keeps the players sharp and hocus.

Bento has been the first the choice keeper for Athletico Paranaense since 2022 and is under contract with the club till the end of 2026.

Caoimhin Kelleher is looking for club who wants a goalkeeper for No.1 spot

Liverpool are looking for a new N0.2 goalkeeper this summer as their former No.2  Caoimhin Kelleher is looking join another club in order to become the No.1 choice at that club and on the other side their third choice goalkeeper Adrian San have moved back to Spain at Real Betis.

There are other player who have linked with the position have been Sunderland’s Anthony Patterson, Villarreal’s Filip Jorgensen, James Trafford of Burnley and Alex McCarthy of Southampton. All of them are the possibility to become second choice keeper.

25 years old Kelleher have repeatedly shown his desire to test himself as a first choice after spending many years in the shadow of Alisson, now he just want to be himself and wants some new challenges.

He wan playing in the starting eleven in the game against Chelsea at the Carabao Cup in February, clubs like Celtic and Nottingham Forest named as the potential interested clubs for the player.

There will be a lot of disruption in the Red’s goalkeeping department this year as the long term coach John Achterberg leaving the club after 15 years.

John Achterberg will replaced by Fabian Otte as he will join as the new goalkeeper coach after the end of the Copa America, where is currently with the United States.
