Liverpool Kyle Walker links are leading the headlines as a surprise move for the Manchester City player by the Reds.
Liverpool & Kyle Walker’s Rumours
The have been some shocking rumours of that the Reds have been urged to sign the Man City captain amid their issues over Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future.
Kyle Walker has surprisingly requested to leave the England champions in the January transfer window. Liverpool have been suggested that the city defender would be a perfect man to sign after his move request.
Pep Guardiola, the manager has recently confirmed that there has been a request to leave the club by the 34-year-old after a amazing spell filled with a lot of silverware. As it stands, Walker remains a City player currently, with AC Milan being the strongest to get him.
Dean Saunders Suggests Kyle Walker to Liverpool:
Ex-Liverpool star Dean Saunders has recently urged his former side to make a move for the England international. He believes that he could be the perfect replacement for Alexander-Arnold. As Trent has been linked to a move with Real Madrid as his contract comes to an end.
On talkSPORT, Saunders said, “Do you want me to chuck a spanner in the works? It looks like Trent is leaving, why don’t Liverpool sign him (Walker)?
“There you go, he’d be a good signing fro the Reds if Trent goes. I know they’ve got the young kid (Conor Bradley) coming through. By the way he is still quick and if Trent is leaving.”
Saunders then insisted that Kyle is still good and one of the best established right-backs in the country. He added,”He’d get in the Spurs team, he’d get in Liverpool’s team, he’d get in Man United’s team, he’d get in Chelsea’s team. Would he get in Arsenal’s team? He’d get in Arsenal’s team. He’s better than Ben White.”
The need for a new RB for the Reds sooner or later is very unlikely to lead them to pursue a move for Walker. As it stands, Real Madrid’s move to sign Trent has got Liverpool in a mix, while they still have Conor Bradley.
Arne Slot’s side has however done some business concerning a right-back in the past few days. There has been a loan move for the young defender Calvin Ramsay, he has joined Scottish side Kilmarnock until the end of the season.
Man City Captain’s Future
Saturday’s dominating 8-0 FA Cup win over Salford City was overshadowed by a post-match interview from Guardiola. He claims that Kyle Walker has asked to leave the England Champions.
The news of him being linked to a move to Anfield has got the fans guessing over the player’s future at the Etihad Stadium.
Guardiola seemed to be sure that the defender would be leaving while speaking over the weekend. The Manager said,”Two days ago, Kyle asked to explore the options to play abroad at the end of his career.
“In his (Kyle’s) mind, he would like to explore it, to go to another country, to play the last years for many reasons. For that reason, I prefer playing other players whose mind is here.”
The PL champions will be back in action in midweek as they face Brentford. It is yet to be decided if Walker will continue to be excluded from the lineup. In the meantime, the Reds will take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Tuesday.
Author’s Opinion
The signing may look a perfect deal for Liverpool according to Saunders, but there are several reasons to the Reds not making a move for the defender. His season has not been up to the standards so far this campaign. His defensive form has been in question a lot this season. Even if Trent leaves, Conor Bradley’s performances have shown that he could be a right fit. Let’s hope that Kyle Walker gets what he wants as he nears the end of his career and the Reds keep faith in Bradley.
