Liverpool may sell Kelleher and Philips to fund the rebuild

Liverpool

Liverpool are in need of a rebuild after a slow season so far where they have dropped more points at halfway stage of the league than they did in the whole of last season and are in dire need of a rebuild, sticking to their transfer policy of self-sustainability they would need to gather funds by selling some of the fringe players for the rebuild of the team and may sell Caoimhin Kelleher and Nat Philips who may be surplus to requirements at the Anfield.

Kelleher is better than a backup GK

Coming from the academy setup Kelleher made his debut for the first team in 2019 and has since deputized for Alisson Becker whenever needed. Kelleher is a huge talent who cannot break into the team until Alisson is at the club and is way more talented than being a backup Goalkeeper. A move away from the club will help him to gain first-team minutes and a sizeable transfer fee for Liverpool which they can use towards their rebuild.

Philips may be surplus to requirements

No one can forget the heroics of Nat Philips of the 2020/21 season where he and Rhys Williams helped Liverpool to finish in the top four of the Premier League when Liverpool were struggling with the Centre Back injury crisis, but he is at best 5th choice Centre Back at the club and wants to move in search for more first-team minutes. A Departure this window looks likely as Rhys Williams has been called back from his loan so Philips could be sold and Liverpool would hope they can coup a decent amount for him in the transfer market.
