Liverpool are currently on the table in the Premier League despite signing only one player in the summer transfer window. The Reds are in great form right now under the new manager Arne Slot. However, amidst everything some Liverpool players are on their way to leaving the club in the next transfer window. One of the players is Liverpool Japanese midfielder Wataru Endo, who could leave in the january transfer window.
Liverpool’s Japanese midfielder Wataru Endo could leave the club soon
Waradru Endo joined Liverpool in last summer’s transfer window from German side VfB Stuttgart on a four-year deal for a transfer fee of £16 million. He became the second Japanese player to play in the red shirt since Takumi Minamino who joined the club in 2020. The Japanese made his Liverpool and Premier League debut against Newcastle United last year. Last season Endo made 43 appearances across all competitions for Liverpool and scored two goals in this process.
Wataru Endo had an outstanding season with the Reds in the last season. Everyone doubted his performance when he joined the club. However, under Jurgen Klopp, the Japanese midfielder performed brilliantly and provided his best on the field. In June 2023, Japan’s national team selected him as the captain of the team due to his brilliant performance at the club level.
However, things have changed now as Liverpool brought in their new manager Arne Slot. Since the start of the new season, Wataru Endo made 4 appearances across all competitions till now. Endo made three appearances coming off the bench out of those four appearances and started only against West Ham United in the Carabao Cup.
But as news is coming out right now, Liverpool are considering selling Wataru Endo in the next transfer window. According to news published by Caught Offside, the Reds are willing to sell him within the price range of €15-20 million. As Wataru Endo is getting a low amount of playing time in Liverpool, a move to a new club will be definitely beneficial for him. That’s why Endo is also open to leaving for a club that can guarantee him regular playing time.
Some premier league clubs including the Wolves are interested in Endo
Some of the Premier League giants are interested in signing Wataru Endo due to his last season’s performance. But age is one of the primary things that every interested club is considering right now as he will be 32 at the start of the next year. Ipswich Town, Fulham, and Wolves are some of the clubs who are interested in Endo and could try their luck in the january transfer window. Endo’s main priority is now getting sufficient playing time. So, if any club is ready to offer that, the Japanese midfielder will be happy to join them.
