Liverpool completed a Merseyside double as the Reds won 2-0 at the Anfield against Everton. However, Everton resisted the Liverpool offence quite firmly in the first-half. But it wasn’t for eternity as Klopp’s men netted twice in the second-half to emerge out winners. Meanwhile, the result meant Liverpool’s title hopes are alive. Everton’s hopes of surviving are dashed. Rating for every Liverpool player are here.

Liverpool opened the scoring through Andy Robertson just after the hour mark. Some dazzling link-up play between Origi and Salah saw the later chip in a cross turned in by Robertson. Origi then scored against one of his favourites opponents. Luis Diaz’s overhead shot bounced in-front of Origi who had an open net to score in.

Liverpool player rating: Defence

Alisson Becker- 6/10

The Brazilian was kept partly busy by Everton. However, a routine job for Alisson who earned another clean-sheet.

Trent Alexander-Arnold- 4/10

Anthony Gordon was a thorn on Trent’s flank. The right-back found it difficult to deal with the Everton youngster and got booked after dragging him down in the second-half.

Joel Matip- 8/10

Solid defensive display. Moreover, excellent while going forward as well. Swept all the duels he contested.

Virgil van Dijk- 7/10

A wall as usual for Liverpool. A 96% pass completion rate, and 100% of ground as well as aerial duels won.

Andy Robertson- 8/10

Kept pressing constantly to make sure Liverpool maintain their high intensity. Opened the scoring with perfect positioning.

Midfield

Thiago Alcantara- 7/10

Though he struggled to unlock the lines for Liverpool, his passing was brilliant as usual. Thiago attempted a mammoth 121 passes misplacing a mere 2 out of them.

Fabinho- 7/10

Dominated the midfield for the Reds. However, Fabinho struggled a bit as he was dribbled past three times by Everton players.

Naby Keita- 6/10

Good football in his 60 minutes. Always looked for the ball and make things happen.

Attack

Mohamed Salah- 7/10

Salah’s pace was contained by Everton keeping him quiet for majority of the game. But one moment and a scintillating move with Origi saw Salah assist Robertson for the opener.

Diogo Jota- 5/10

Troubled the Everton defenders but his goal threat was however neutralised.

Sadio Mane- 3/10

Horrible performance from Mane. Almost got himself sent-off after poking Mason Holgate in his face. Moreover, no real attacking threat from him. Lowest rating of any Liverpool player.

Substitutes

Divock Origi- 8/10

Came-on for Keita in the 60th minute. Instant impact. Origi just loves playing against Everton. A pre-assist soon after coming on and a goal to kill the game. Surprisingly receives highest rating among any other Liverpool player.

Luis Diaz- 7/10

Came-on for Mane in the 60th minute. Assisted Origi’s goal with a spectacular overhead kick and upped Liverpool’s attacking threat.

Jordan Henderson- N/A

Came-on for Jota in the 82nd minute. Henderson’s cross started the move for the second goal.
