Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez Has New Transfer Rumours

The Reds have reportedly rejected in what is being called as ‘First Offer’ for the Uruguay international from the Saudi Arabia Champions Al-Hilal.

Nunez was signed for an initial fee of 64m during the summer transfer window of 2022. He impressed the side after he netted 34 goals in his 41 matches for Benfica during the 2021/2022 campaign.

The 25-year-old has had a decent impact for the club over the past seasons. Although he has been inconsistent in his games in front of the goal, missing key chances.

Following the arrival of head coach Arne Slot, Nunez has been getting fewer minutes. The manager prefers Mo Salah, Diogo Jota, Luiz Diaz, and Cody Gakpo more as it is seen.

Al-Hilal’s Offer for Liverpool On Darwin Nunez

As Reports suggests, Al-Hilal have offered an impressive contract for the Reds forward to consider. With the Saudi Arabian club ready to around £400k per week, that would be £20.8m per year.

Nunez would surely prefer to play European football, but the wages are huge to make him think a several times. No one at Liverpool has earned that much money playing at the Anfield till date.

The closest to that number would be Mo Salah’s current £350k a week deal. Nunez could not earn that kind of money anywhere else, there’s no doubt in that.

The Reds Value him at £85m

There were news regarding Darwin’s exit, that it was expected to be at the end of the season. Slot couldn’t get the best out of him it seems, as his spell at Anfield could be ending this month.

Saudi Arabian clubs are interested in him. Al-Hilal, managed by former Benfica head coach Jorge Jesus, are looking to replace Neymar. Their rivals Al-Nassr are also keen to add strength to their squad while Anderson Talisca, once a Liverpool’s transfer target, moves to Turkey.

It is claimed that the initial verbal offer of around £70m for Darwin from Al-Hilal has been turned down by the Merseyside club. They value their striker at near to the 85m mark, as revealed earlier this week.

It seems that the club could be agreeing an offer at £75m. With Micheal Edwards coming in to the negotiations, the club is expecting high price for the player.

Fabrizio Romano’s Assessment

The transfer expert, Romano has confirmed that there are interests in the Reds player from the Saudi Pro League. There have been actual negotiations over a deal.
