Liverpool and Chelsea might end up locking horns over midfielder Moses Caicedo

According to a report by footballinsider, Liverpool are “keeping close tabs” on Brighton’s Moses Caicedo. If possible. Liverpool want to sign the midfielder in the January transfer window itself. This will provide some much-needed depth to the Liverpool midfield. Liverpool’s slow start is primarily due to the injuries to major midfield players. The lack of depth in the midfield has contributed significantly to Liverpool’s lack of competitive edge.

Caicedo has established himself as one of the most important players for Brighton. His performances for Brighton have captured the attention of several top European clubs including Liverpool. Graham Potter, the ex-Brighton and the current Chelsea manager had signed him for Brighton for a fee of £4.5m. He was out on a loan for the first half of the 2021-22 season. Since his return, he has had a brilliant run in the Premier League. The Reds tried to sign him in the previous transfer window. However, Liverpool made the offer on deadline day. Most pundits are speculating that the reason why they didn’t go for depth in the midfield this season was that they wanted to go all out for Bellingham in the next transfer window. However, Bellingham will not come cheap. The Reds will have to pay a record fee to bring Bellingham to Anfield.
