Liverpool defender Calvin Ramsay is set to leave Anfield on a loan during this transfer window. The 19 – year old isn’t getting enough game time and seems like he isn’t in the plans of Jurgen Klopp. He has made only two appearances after arriving from Aberdeen for a fee of £ 4 million last summer.
The offensive-minded right-back caught attention last season after bagging one goal and nine assists in 33 matches for the Premiere League outfit. He also won the SFWA Young Player of the Year award.
Liverpool are set to send Ramsay out on loan
According to CaughtOffside, Swansea City have their eyes set on Ramsay as a loan target. They are aiming for the EFL Championship playoff spot this season. Ramsay could make a move to Swansea as he lacks game time at Anfield. Even though Klopp doesn’t play Ramsay much enough, he’s an admirer of the youngster. It would be interesting to see if he agrees to a loan deal or not.
Ramsay is currently the third choice right back behind Trent Alexander Arnold and James Milner. However, he featured five times for the club’s U21 team and scored two goals.
Ramsay has talked about his debut in Premiere League during an interaction with LFC TV. The youngster said:
“I’ve said it a lot, but that would be another special moment. Growing up, I watched the Premier League and I wanted to be in those players’ shoes, to be here at a club like Liverpool. The league here is very different to back in Scotland. Up there, it is very physical with some big guys playing, but down here it is more technical with a lot of players who are very good on the ball. I have got to adapt to it.”
“Training with the lads every day has helped me because the tempo and standard in training is on a totally different level. We’ve got massive games coming up and games I want to be involved in.”
