Liverpool star winger Mohamed Salah has missed out on the FIFA FIFPRO Men’s World XI shortlist for 2021.

The 29-year-old winger has been in the form of his life this term for Liverpool. Mohamed Salah has recorded 21 goals and 9 assist in just 22 appearances in all competitions this term (stats via Tranfermarkt). There are even shouts calling Salah ‘the best player in the world’ at the moment.

If Mohamed Salah managed to score or assist in the Premier League clash against Newcastle United on Thursday. It will be his 15th top-flight game that he has either scored or assisted in a row.

The Egyptian star finished seventh in the 2021 Ballon d’Or rankings last month. But the in-form winger was not on the shortlist for the FIFA FIFPRO Men’s World XI for 2021. Firstly, his Liverpool teammates Alisson Becker and Trent Alexander-Arnold made the shortlist for the FIFA World XI for their respective positions.

Secondly, Premier League stars including  Edouard Mendy, Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, Romelu Lukaku, Ruben Dias, Kevin De Bruyne, Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo all made the shortlist for the World XI.

While the likes of Karim Benzema, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Robert Lewandowski, Erling Braut Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Romelu Lukaku all made the forward shortlist ahead of Mohamed Salah.
