Liverpool to join race to sign Moussa Diaby

Liverpool are looking to join the race to sign Moussa Diaby, but not until the summer transfer window.

According to The Chronical, Arsenal, and Newcastle are also linked with the Bayer Leverkusen winger. He reportedly has a price tag of £ 100 million.

If Liverpool are able to sign him with that price tag, it would then become their record signing more than £ 85 million they spent on Darwin Nunez.

Diaby to Liverpool is expected in the summer

If we talk about the long term, The Reds need Mohammad Salah’s replacement. And according to Christian Falk of Bild, Diaby to Anfield is expected in the future.

He told Caught Offside:

“He’s really expensive and Leverkusen will keep hold of him if a crazy offer doesn’t arise.I don’t see an offer coming about at this moment. Perhaps Liverpool will join the poker table at some point because he’s perfect for this team. But, for now, I don’t think there will be any movement on this front during the winter window.”

Speaking about Arsenal’s interest, Falk added:

“Perhaps if Arsenal have a lot of money somewhere, maybe £100m, Leverkusen would then have a discussion.”

Liverpool currently have no. of players who could play in wide postings such as Luis Diaz, Salah, and Cody Gakpo. But there is a chance that Reds will try and sign somebody to operate on wide areas in the summer market. Considering Diaz’s injury this season and Salah’s advancing years.

Salah turns 31 in July and he may start losing pace which is a massive part of his game. Considering this Liverpool might look for an alternate option.
