According to reports, Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool are ready to let Belgium striker Divock Origi and forgotten man at the club Loris Karius walk away from the club in the January transfer window.

Divock Origi is famously known for his last goals of the match when Liverpool need them the most. Despite the important late goals, the Belgium striker has managed just 40 goals for the club in 167 appearances in all competitions. Origi has failed to cement his place in the starting line-up. On top of that, the Belgium international has a horrible injury record. With the January window now open, it seems Jurgen Klopp has decided to let the striker walk away from the club. Fellow Premier League club Newcastle United have been scouting the centre-forward and may make a move for him in the upcoming days.

Newcastle United are set o be without star striker Callum Wilson for up to eight weeks due to an injury. The reds could get some good cash in for their utility player. In turn, Liverpool could turn to the transfer market and bring in some new faces at Anfield in January.

While Loris Karius is still on the Liverpool books. The goalkeeper is yet to make an appearance for the reds since his horrible display in the Champions League final against Real Madrid some years back.

Liverpool goalkeeper coach John Achterberg has reportedly told the German international to look for a move away from the club. The coach suggests that he should depart Anfield this month as his continued presence “doesn’t help anyone”.

Liverpool set to sign Luis Diaz in the January transfer window?

If the reds managed to sell both Origi and Karius this month, they could very well turn their attention to bringing in new faces at the club. The reds are already without star winger duo Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah due to their AFCON involvement. Origi’s departure in the same window could end up hurting the club’s ambitions for the season.

The reds have been linked with a move for Porto winger Luis Diaz. The Colombian has been in fine form for Porto and even for his country this term. Luis Diaz has recorded 15 goals and 6 assists in 26 appearances for Porto in all competitions. (stats via Transfermarkt)

Reports suggest that Porto have set an asking price of around £60 million. Diaz averages 1.9 key passes, 2.7 shots and 2.7 dribbles per game in the LigaNOS this term(stats via whoscored). Diaz has all the qualities to succeed in a Jurgen Klopp system. This deal could turn out as one of the signings of the season if it goes through.
