Liverpool vs Chelsea Preview: The Blues to miss four players for the fixture with a good news

The Premier League will be back on turf from this weekend with some important matches in the line. One such game is a clash between two giants, Chelsea and Liverpool. The meeting between the two will take place on Sunday at Anfield. It is a fixture of utmost importance for both sides as they look to raise their title hopes. Liverpool currently sit at the top of the table while Chelsea are fourth, four points behind the leaders. Here is our preview for Chelsea – Liverpool game.

The game will be of top-notch quality as per expectations of fans and why not so. The Reds under Arne Slot are soaring high in the league and are favourites to win as well. Similar to this, the Blues under Enzo Maresca are also looking much better than previous campaigns. Despite their 2-0 defeat against Manchester City in the opening matchday, Chelsea have been in a great run of form. They have scored more than 4 goals in a game twice this season and are on fourth position. The credit of this transition is Maresca and his playing style. Though, they could have closed the gap were they have not played a stalemate against Nottingham Forest. That result has come at a cost to Chelsea with both themselves and Forest having been charged by the FA for failing to control their players after a mass confrontation during the contest. The West Londoners had their six players getting in the books during the match.

Chelsea to miss some figures against Liverpool: a preview for the clash

The players who were booked included Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana. The duo picked their fifth yellow card of the season and are now facing a one-match ban. Other absentees include Omari Kellyman and Carney Chukwuemeka, who will miss the game due to injuries. There are suspicions about the availability of Noni Madueke and defender Levi Colwill as well for a full game time. The duo appeared during the international break for the Three Lions and need proper rest before the Merseyside trip.

What’s going to be happy for Chelsea?

The fans at Stamford Bridge have been only facing banters since the past two seasons but the scenery has changed this season. Their club is playing some sensible football under attack led by Cole Palmer. Another important update for them is a potential return of their academy star, Reece James.

The right back has been subjected to long term injuries in the past and has been unable to deliver for a substantial amount of season last year. He culminated a total of only 800 minutes in the last 18 months. Hence, he is pretty much unlikely to make a comeback against Liverpool next Sunday. Enzo Maresca understands the importance of James’ presence in the squad and may not be risking him without match fitness.

The Cobham graduate has been unable to continue on his full potential for a very long time in the past. He is a perhaps one of the best in his positions but constant injuries have ruined his career so far. The management will hope James to regain his level as soon as possible since they are competing in different competitions and have a very long season ahead.
