Liverpool vs Manchester United ends in a dramatic draw

Liverpool hosted Manchester United at Anfield which was set up to an exciting tie in the Premier League. This match carried huge stakes as both teams were looking for clinical three points. The only difference is Liverpool is in tremendous form and Manchester United are fighting relegation.

The Reds defeated the Red Devils when they faced off each other in the Premier League last campaign. The match ended in favour of Liverpool with the final scoresheet at 3-0. Manchester United did come victorious in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup quarterfinals where the match ended 4-3.

This season has been all Liverpool as they have been almost unstoppable in every format. They are leading both the Premier League and the Champions League table. The Reds are the favourites to lift the English silverware this season as per Goal.

Manchester United have had a mixed form after the arrival of their new manager Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese manager has led his team to a Manchester derby win this season. This victory was special for the Red Devils as it came in the final minutes of the match against Manchester City.

Liverpool were expected to come out with a full three points against a scrappy Manchester United. The Reds also had a big advantage as the match was set at Anfield. Ruben Amorim’s men had different plans as they earned a well-deserved point by the end of the game.

Manchester United could have defeated the Reds

The Red Devils turned out to be the underdogs as they gave Liverpool a run for their money. The match ended in a draw which resulted in a point each for the team. There were moments when. Manchester United could have registered a shocking victory against the Reds.

Lisandro Martinez was the first player to get on the scoresheet but not for long as Cody Gakpo soon equalized for Liverpool. The Egyptian king Mohammed Salah also scored to put the Reds in the lead. Amad Diallo has always turned up against Liverpool and he did in this match as he scored the equalizer on Anfield.

There was a bright moment for Manchester United as there was a chance to bury the game in the final minutes. Harry Maguire had a chance to end the match in favour of the Reds but the ball ended way off target. Maguire was one of the best players in the match alongside Bruno Fernandez and Amad Diallo.

This will be a confidence boost for the Red Devils as this season has not been their best. The result of ending a match in a draw against an in-form Liverpool will help them get back in form. The season is still long and Manchester United still have a chance to improve their place on the Premier League table.

Liverpool to face Spurs in the EFL Cup quarterfinals

Arne Slot’s men have been ruthless this season as they have lost only a game in the Premier League this season. The Dutch manager has led his team to many impressive wins this season including victories against Real Madrid and Manchester City.

Spurs on the other hand have a mixed campaign yet. The team has often conceded goals after scoring first this season. Liverpool will be tough opponents, but Ange Postecoglou’s men have registered a good record against big clubs.

A win in the first leg of the quarter-finals will be a major advantage for both sides. The next leg will be set at Anfield and Spurs will look to put up a margin to seal the win at their home. The second leg will be set up as an advantage for Liverpool.
