According to sources close to Spanish defender Ivan Fresneda, Liverpool wants to sign him this month.
That’s according to The Athletic, report that Valladolid would consider selling the 18-years old if a good offer arrives.
The Spanish club have set an asking price of £ 13 million for their academy product. And according to this report, Liverpool have Fresneda on their radar.
The Reds aren’t the only ones tracking the 18-years old. Sources ‘close to the player’ tells six other clubs from Premiere League who are tracking him.
Arsenal and Newcastle United have already met with the player’s representatives.
Real Madrid are also claimed to have an interest in Fresneda who is looking for a move to a top club.
Liverpool need reinforcements in other position
With this many clubs interested we shouldn’t be confident about Liverpool’s interest. Liverpool doesn’t need a right-back as of now. If it was any other position, Reds would have gone all in for the signing.
Some would say differently as Carvin Ramsey is struggling with injury, and Joe Gomez is Klopp’s backup to Alexander Arnold.
Gomez may be needed at center back as Virgil Van Dijk is injured and Ibrahima Konate and Joel Matip are injury prone.
So, we could say that it makes sense to sign an 18-years old with fresh blood for just £ 13 million. Fresneda is already a starter in La Liga for Valladolid.
It will be a bargain for the club that ends up getting the teenager. But Liverpool have needs elsewhere as young Conor Bradley waiting for his game time after Ramsay.
