Lorenzo Musetti brought in a masterclass in Hamburg Open

Lorenzo Musetti, an upcoming tennis prodigy gave a masterclass performance in the first round of the Hamburg European Open. Musetti came back from a set down to defeat Dusan Lajovic by 6-7(4-7),7-6.7-4,6-3.

After earning a break in the sixth game to take a lead of 4-2, the Serbian, Lajovic made a comeback to level things at 4-4. Further, Lajovic went on to win the set by 7-4.

The Italian player saved a couple of match points during the entire match. The player was losing the set from 0-2, then as if something has gone into his arms, he started playing real tennis before sealing the set by 7-4.

Musetti left the spectators shocked since no one ever expected the game to be thrilling. Even Lorenzo after sealing the first set by 6-7(4-7) was looking comfortable.

Musetti is the front-runner in the race to lift his first ATP title. This was his first tour win since May. His last win came at the Madrid Mutua Open where he reached the third round.

Musetti will have to face the winner of the game between Diego Schwartzman and Emil Ruusuvuori. The win has made the Italian supporters extremely tempted by this young prodigy.
