The Belgian number nine had two stellar seasons for the Nerazzurri from Manchester United in 2019. He has scored 47 Serie A goals and won the Scudetto last year.

Chelsea are believed to be in the market for a new central defender. They had an offer for Sevilla’s Jules Kounde but it was rejected this summer.

According to Italian news outlet Sport Mediaset, Lukaku has recommended both Bastoni and Skriniar to the Blues hierarchy.

Bastoni had joined Inter from Atalanta in 2017. He has cemented his place as a first-team regular in the last two seasons. He also had previous loan spells back at Atalanta and with Parma too.

Will Romelu Lukaku’s ex-club Inter Milan duo join Chelsea?

The 22-year-old still has three years remaining on his current contract. While Skriniar has previously been linking with a move to London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. His contract expires in June 2023.

Bastoni and Skriniar started in defence in Inter’s opening two Serie A matches of the new campaign. With the Nerazzurri winning 4-0 and 3-1 against Genoa and Hellas Verona respectively.

Skriniar has been linking with a move to the Premier League in the past having impressed in Serie A across the past several seasons.

The 26-year-old has amassed 170 first-team appearances for the Nerazzurri and has also become a key member at international level with Slovakia, whom he helped to this summer’s Euros.

Skriniar moved to Italian football in 2016 when he joined Sampdoria and has become one of the league’s top performers in the years since.
The Blues are in the market for a new central defender after sanctioning the sale of Kurt Zouma to West Ham United in the closing stages of the transfer window. The wish list is missing out on the signing of Kounde.
