Manchester City legend, Vincent Kompany got his reunion with his club in the FA Cup quarter-final. He is currently managing the Championship side, Burnley.

A short odds reunion

Kompany’s side Burnley are at the top of the table in the Championship. They are 11 points clear on the top of the table. They are certainly eyeing their return back to the Premier League.

There will be some short odds between Kompany and Pep Guardiola as they encountered each other for the first time.

However, beating City would be a very tall task for them but City have to be careful playing against them.

Both teams are playing exceptionally well in their respective leagues and are still in the race to win the silverware this season.

Kompany’s City Career

The Belgian defender played represented City for eleven seasons between 2008-2019. He also had a fifteen-year international career with Belgium national team.

He made 360 appearances for Manchester City and 89 appearances for his national team.

In 2008, when he was bought by City, he was considered one of the bargain buys of the revolutionized City era, thus blossoming into one of the league’s best center-backs.

He had won 10 trophies during his stint in the Etihad including four Premier League titles. He also got massive recognition from the club in the form of a statue.

Conclusion

Even though the legend of the club returns as a manager of the opponent team, City will forever remain deeply rooted in his heart.
