Manchester City are reportedly aiming to make £200m from player sales this summer. The player sales will help City avoid any problems with FFP.

WHY DOES MANCHESTER CITY WANT SO HIGH-VALUE PLAYER SALES?

The Citizens are looking to strengthen their side in the transfer window. The report states that the push for new signings could be aided by selling several players. According to reports, the Premier League Champions believe they can make £200m from sales this summer transfer window. City had many players on loan who will be sold potentially if they don’t have any future. Although, most of the money made from player sales will be invested to bring in more signings.

WHO ARE THE PLAYERS THAT ARE AVAILABLE FOR SALE?

The arrivals of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez have led to reports linking Gabriel Jesus with a move away from the club. Arsenal are reportedly leading the race for the forward. Manchester City are expected to command a fee of £45m for the forward. Raheem Sterling may also depart for Chelsea or Tottenham. City will demand a £60m fee for the England international. City are set to get £15m for Gavin Bazunu, who is set to go to Southampton. Pedro Porro has already signed for Sporting Lisbon with the deal costing £7m. Meanwhile, the sales of Yangel Herrera and Morgan Rogers could raise to £20m. The total of this potential player sales looks set to reach £207m.

Manchester City would like to use the money from sales to invest in new signings. Cty would like to sign Marc Cucurella and Kalvin Philips. Cucurella would improve the defence and solve the left-back problem. Kalvin Philips would be the long-term replacement for Fernandinho. Although, deals would potentially cost over £50m. So fringe players have to be sold to make space and money for new players to come in.
