Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola hailed Erling Haaland as an “incredible” player. The praise comes after Manchester City defeated Sevilla 4-0 in the opening match of the Premier League. Haaland found the back of the net two times as City completely dominated Sevilla. The double goals take Haaland’s goal tally to 12 in just seven goals for Manchester City.

Along with Haaland’s double brace, Phil Foden and Ruben Dias also scored a goal apiece for Manchester City. Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola was full of praise for his newest summer acquisition for his performance in the match. Guardiola said:

“The numbers speak for themselves. It’s not just the two goals, it’s the way he’s always there. It’s always the feeling that he could score more goals. His numbers, all of his career, even for previous teams, are quite similar. He has an incredible sense of goal. I love this routine and it’s been a routine in every single press conference after games, talking about him and his goals. We (City) have incredible numbers in terms of goals, but we need to continue. We have another battle against Tottenham on Saturday and hopefully we can continue.”

Manchester City captain full of praises for Haaland

Manchester City captain Kevin De Bruyne was all praises for his teammate as well. Haaland and De Bruyne have linked up well in their short time together. Speaking about the strike, the City captain had this to say:

“For him, it’s the perfect start. It makes it more exciting if he can adjust to the way that we (City) play, because then the level is going to go up. I try to do my job, make the right movements and try to create as many chances as I can and I know, one way or another, Erling is going to be there. For the moment, he’s scoring the goals to help us win the games.”
