Manchester City submits official bid to sign Kalvin Philips.

Manchester City have reportedly submitted an official bid to sign Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Philips this summer. He has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs this summer transfer window.

Pep Guardiola is now believed to be on the lookout to find a replacement for Fernandinho. Following the announcement of Haaland’s arrival at the Ethiad on Monday.

According to recent media reports, the Premier League Champions view Philips as their main target for the summer transfer window. Although they are set to face the competition from a number of Premier League teams.

The likes of Manchester United, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and West Ham United are all interested in the 26-year-old’s signature.

The report also adds that the Citizens have now submitted their first offer for the Leeds United midfielder. Philips is available for around £50m this summer. Although it is yet to be seen whether he will leave his boyhood club. Although, City are understood to have been handed a major pursuit in signing Philips.

Leeds are reportedly set to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Marc Roca. Philips is arguably England’s best defensive midfielder. Philips, 26, has been with Leeds his entire career. He excelled on the world stage when he started every game for England’s run to the Euro 2020 final. So, he may play the Champions League at the Etihad stadium if he joins City.

The 19-cap England international, who has featured 234 times for his boyhood club, Leeds. Philips made his debut for Leeds in 2015. He has two years remaining on his contract at Elland Road. City will be praying Pep convinces Kalvin to join City over other clubs. Although, it is yet to be seen whether Leeds will accept the official offer of Manchester City.
