Manchester City VS Liverpool Match Preview

Liverpool host current English champions Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday night in matchweek 7 of the 2021/22 Premier League season.

There have been many exhilarating clashes at Anfield down the years between these two clubs. City ran riot with a 4-1 success in the 2020-21 season. On the other hand, Liverpool can only boast one win from their last seven against Guardiola’s side in all competitions. Although, that win did come at Anfield – a 3-1 victory in their triumphant 2019-20 season.

Until now Liverpool is unbeaten in 10 competitive fixtures at Anfield. Additionally, they have scored at least three goals in each of their last six games since last month’s 3-0 win over Leeds United. But, Pep Guardiola’s defence is proving to be near-impenetrable in the league this term.

The two giants occupy first and second place in the Premier League table after six games. Jurgen Klopp’s side currently sits one point above their title rivals.
