Manchester City had an amazing season for them. They ended up winning the Premier League yet again to complete their quadruple. Arsenal who are runner ups in the league for second time in a row must be furious from Man City. After winning treble recently they were very well looking good for another treble. However they crashed out of Champions League against Real Madrid in a thrilling game. They also ended up missing out on Carabao Cup against Manchester United. These loses have now provoked Manchester City to make some big signings. Manchester City have did some really great business these past years. Some prominent signings recently are Joško Gvardiol, Jeremy Doku all of them are thriving under Pep Guardiola. Manchester City squad is also very young so we can say future is very bright. However one Manchester City youngster may end up leaving the club.
There can be no better manager than Pep Guardiola to develop young talents. The wonders he did with players like Phil Foden, Erling Haaland, Jeremy Doku. He even helped experienced players like Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Gundogan to find the best form of their lives. Manchester City are often criticized to be a rich club who are famous for buying good players. Although we cannot deny this fact after Pep Guardiola spend heavily on players like Jack Grealish and Gvardiol. However these players ended up giving match winning performances under Pep Guardiola. These players also have a trophy cabinet to boast about now. Most players that Manchester City offloaded under Pep Guardiola are also performing quite well in their new clubs. Players like Gabriel Jesus and Zinchenko gave back to back title races that even made Pep’s legendary squad sweat out alot. Mikel Arteta is also doing well.
Manchester City youngster looking for new challenge
Rico Lewis can be the first Manchester City player to make his exit this summer. Although it’s not decided yet if the player will leave on loan or on permanent basis. The club told him he will be allowed to leave only after the first team transfer business is concluded. After Manchester City won the Premier League for the fourth time this season their first priority will be to improve their squad. Pep Guardiola’s have numerous players in his mind like Bruno Guimaraes, Lucas Paqueta. Also due to the Profit and Sustainability (PSR) rules of the Premier League they will have to spend their resources wisely. As the new rules state that clubs will not be allowed to use revenue from other sources to buy players. They can only buy players using the money earned from transfer sales. This will give them a moment before selling players.
Rico Lewis broke into Manchester City’s first team during their treble winning season. After Joao Cancelo was not available the youngster stepped up quite well in the full back role. He built a good partnership with his fellow defender mates John Stones and Kyle Walker. Lewis was also played in the inverted role like John Stone before. The youngster showed his abilities with the chances given to him by Pep Guardiola. However even after many decent performances the youngster found it difficult to cement his place in the starting lineup. He also struggled for game time among his peers. There were rumours of the youngster leaving on loan. Manchester City staff are quite happy with the youngster and his commitment to the club. The youngster also managed to have 24 appearances across all competitions. He already has a trophy cabinet to boast about and he can soon have his chance.
