Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola’s concerns have an increment as Jack Grealish may be on the bench for some time. The Spanish manager issues a fresh update on the injury of his winger.

The defending champions are eyeing to their record fourth consecutive Premier League glory. Though, there is a close call with Liverpool and Arsenal for the title. Injury to Grealish: A bombshell for Pep Guardiola

The Sky Blues faced Luton Town in the midweek, thrashing them 6-2 in the FA Cup. The cup clash at Kenilworth Road also provided a return from injury for Jack Grealish, as the 28-year-old made his first start since suffering a groin problem last month. However, he was forced to another see off to the sidelines at Kenilworth Road during the mid game and can be on the bench for some time again.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s clash with United, Pep says that the Englishman is not expected to return before the international break.

“No, I don’t think so. He has to recover well to use him as much as possible. I didn’t speak to Gareth Southgate. He will not be fit this weekend. When he comes back, I don’t know. Setbacks are always there in life, he will overcome it.”

Some more crucial run of games will be waiting for City prior to Grealish’s return. Newcastle United will face them in the quarter finals of the FA Cup and FC Copenhagen in the second leg of Champions League. Though, Pep Guardiola has a comfortable 3-1 lead and ease past their Champions League campaign to the last eights of the championship.
