Manchester United Academy star Martin Svidersky has confirmed that he will leave the club after turning down the chance to work under new manager Erik Ten Hag.

Martin Svidersky is a defensive midfielder aged 19 years. The defensive midfielder had been offered a new deal by the Red Devils. However, the midfielder has rejected a new deal and now will be joining an unknown La Liga side. He will be joining the new club in Spain following three seasons in England. Various reports suggested that United was keen to tie the Slovakian down with a new contract. But after initial rounds of discussion, it became clear that Svidersky would leave this summer. While on international duty the 19-year-old confirmed the news to RTVS. “I have spent the last days in Spain, where my steps will continue. They will follow in the first Spanish league, La Liga. I have high expectations, it will be a new experience, a new country.”

No, the departure of the Slovakian is not going to be affecting the United plans for the first team or the Academy. Also, the Red Devils are now due to receive a small compensation package to recognize their development of the player. This is despite the fact the player is leaving as a free agent at the end of the month. The Slovakia international youth departure could clear the path for three of the United FA youth cup-winning midfielders. They are Dan Gore, Kobbie Mainoo, and Isak Hansen- Aareon, potentially freeing opportunities to feature in the first team next season.

The club’s famous academy has produced a host of talented midfielders in recent years. Starlets such as Hannibal Mejbri, Charlie Savage, and Zidane Iqbal have already made their first-team debuts. James Garner, Dylan Levitt, and Ethan Galbraith have also broken through and are enjoyed successful loan spells this season. Svidersky unfortunately after completing the move to Manchester United had a couple of major injuries. Three weeks before the move, he tore his ACL, MCL, and meniscus which kept him out for a whole year before heading to England. Although Erik Ten Hag is going all out to sign Barca midfielder Frenkie De Jong, he is expected to give a lot of young academy stars the chance to impress. The Dutchman while at Ajax through the academy made stars like De Jong and Jurien Timber. These two players Erik wants to also sign for United in the summer window.

The decision of Martin Svidersky to leave United was the best option as he was following down in the pecking order. Also, the injuries did not do him a favour during his United career.
