Manchester United are “preparing” to make a second offer for the attacker
Manchester United are “preparing a fresh offer” for Porto’s Evanlinson after their first bid was rejected by the Portuguese club
Evanlinson has been impressive for the club in the 2021-22campaignn. He has scored 21 goals in 46 appearances for the club across all competitions. The Brazilian also has had five assists.
On a whole, Evanlinson has struck the back of the goal 25 times in 70 outings for the club. He joined Porto from Tombense in September of 2020
Evanlinson has made three appearances for Brazil U-23. He is yet to feature for the senior team.
Striker woes for The Red Devils
Manchester United was the club touted to bring Darwin Nunez to the Premier League. However, they failed to sign him. The Uruguayan striker went on to choose rivals, Liverpool, instead.
Now, Edinson Cavani is also bidding farewell to the club. This means that United is short of options at the centre forward postion.
Rumors are also afoot of Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the club. However, these rumors are baseless. The Portuguese striker will spend at least another year with the club.
Marcus Rashford will be given a chance at redemption under Ten Haag. So will Jadon Sancho. Sancho has had an underwhelming first year at the club. He will be looking to change it under the new manager.
Budget and Evanlinson
United, reportedly, has a budget of £130m this summer. And the bulk of the budget could be spent on Frenkie De Jong.
According to O Jogo, United recently made an offer worth €60m (£51.6m) plus €5m (£4.3m) worth of add ons for the striker. But, seeing that Porto have no intentions of selling the forward, this bid was rejected.
However, new reports have emerged that the Red Devils are preparing a fresh offer worth €80m (£68.8m) for the striker.
