Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Lyon striker Moussa Dembele. Arsenal have also shown interest in the striker.
Lyon are also now ready to sell their striker. The striker has reportedly rejected a new contract offer. Hence, there is a possibility they will sell the striker this summer.
MANCHESTER UNITED AND MOUSSA DEMBELE TRANSFER LINKS FULL STORY
According to reports, Manchester United are interested in signing Lyon striker Moussa Dembele. The Red Devils are in need of attacking options. Erik Ten Hag wants to sign a new striker this window. Another reason is he might also replace Cristiano Ronaldo in the squad. Ronaldo wants to leave United this summer. The report also adds that Erik Ten Hag will sign a striker even if Ronaldo stays.
Arsenal have also shown interest in Moussa Dembele. The report adds that the Gunners want someone to compete with Gabriel Jesus for the starting spot. Hence, after Nicolas Pepe left on loan , Arsenal are looking for a new forward player. However, United and Arsenal have not made an approach to sign the striker in this transfer window.
A LATE MOVE FOR MOUSSA DEMBELE IS A POSSIBILITY
According to Ligue 1 expert Jonathan Johnson, a late move in the transfer window for Moussa Dembele is a possibility. He said,“ I think it definitely is a possibility [Dembele leaving Lyon].“I think Lyon would rather cash in on him now rather than lose him for free next summer. It sounds like the player would rather see out his contract and then leave as a free agent next summer.
If they want to sign a striker, Arsenal and Manchester United are going to have a perfect chance to sign Moussa Dembele. Moussa Dembele has the capabilities to score in the UK. He has scored 17 goals in 46 matches for Fulham. His capabilities then earned him a move to Celtic. He scored 51 goals in 94 matches which earned him a move to Lyon.
Lyon spent 20m for his services. However, given his contract is expiring next summer, they will have to sell him for much less than 20m. Hence, a number of Premier League clubs including Manchester United will be keeping an eye on his situation. Moussa Dembele is yet to appear for Lyon this season.
