Manchester United are verge of signings of the young French winger Melvine Malard in this summer transfer window. The Red Devils believe that the signing of Melvine Malard will definitely add more options in the attacking zones.
Melvine Malard joined Manchester United in September, last season from French side Lyon on a loan spell. After his brilliant 2022/23 campaign in France, manchester United brought this young French winger last year on loan.
Malard delivered brilliantly for United in the Women’s Super League. The 24-year-old netted seven goals and three assists for United last season within 29 matches. She was the 3rd highest goalscorer for United last season. Malard particularly performed well in the Women’s FA Cup, having 3 goal contributions in just 5 matches. Manchester United ultimately went on to win the Women’s FA Cup for the first time in the club’s history after knocking down Tottenham in the final by 4-0.
Because of her impressive season with the Red Devils, the Manchester United board is keen to bring the French winger back to Manchester. Well, speculations were going on around Melvine Malard’s move to Manchester earlier this month on a permanent deal. Now, it seems like this move could happen.
Melvine Malard move to Manchester United
The Red Devils have now agreed to bring Melvine Malard back to the place where he started last season. So, after spending one season on a loan spell in Manchester, the French winger is now going to join United on a permanent deal. According to Goal, the 24-year-old agreed to sign a deal that will keep her in Manchester until 2027. United fans are very excited to see the young French winger once again in the red jersey.
So, after spending appearing 90 appearances for Lyon and scoring 32 goals for the French side, Melvine Malard is leaving Lyon this summer and going to join Manchester United. She joined French side Lyon back in 2014 and signed her first professional contract with the club in 2017. Before joining Manchester United on a loan spell, she spent another loan spell with Fleury 91 in the 2019/20 season.
The 24-year-old is also very active in the French side for international duty, and made 22 appearances at the senior level, after playing in the U20, U19, and also in U17. Melvine Malard sign will be the second signing of Manchester United this season. Meanwhile, another Manchester United player, 31-year-old English international Mary Earps is leaving the club due to her contract expiring.
