Manchester United handed Jadon Sancho injury concern

Manchester United dealt Jadon Sancho injury blow ahead of upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Sancho picked up a minor injury in England’s training camp, Gareth Southgate has confirmed.

The United forward will be joining the England squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Hungary, Andorra and Poland. But unfortunately, England boss Gareth Southgate revealed that Sancho is a doubt for Thursday’s clash with Hungary. Southgate said in a statement, “We’ve got a small knock with Jadon Sancho this morning, so we’re going to assess him. Everyone else is fine for the game.”

The 21-year-old only started one of England’s seven games at Euro 2020. Prior to the knock he picked up, there were doubts whether Sancho would’ve made Southgate’s XI anyway. Sancho’s fitness is a bigger concern for Manchester United.

Sancho finally became a United this summer following a move from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth £73 million. He started his first game back in the Premier League in United’s 1-0 win against Wolves last weekend. The United winger played 72 minutes at Molineux. Anthony Martial came on in place of him.

United to miss Sancho

Man United could be without Sancho for their clash against Newcastle United on September 11 following the international break. They also begin their UEFA Champions League campaign away to BSC Young boys three days later.

Jadon Sancho is a subject of much excitement for United fans. He has been a target for the club since last season, and the Red Devils were finally able to bring him to Old Trafford this summer. However, this fresh injury concern means that the United faithful will have to wait some more to see Sancho in action again.

It will be interesting to see how Sancho will line up alongside the new entrant Ronaldo.
