Manchester United are interested in Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic. While the Red Devils have to battle it out with two other Premier League sides, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United for signing the Fiorentina forward.

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Dusan Vlahovic on a long-term basis. According to the Daily Mail, they are up against the Lilywhites and the Magpies, both ready to pay a significant price for the forward.

Dusan Vlahovic has begun the new season in the same manner as he completed the previous one. In Serie A, the striker has been on fire, scoring 12 goals and adding four assists to his name. While the Serbian just scored a brace against AC Milan. Following which he ended their undefeated streak in the league. While he might help Fiorentina reach new heights if he continues to play like this.

Vlahovic’s future, however, is a major problem for La Viola, since he has flatly refused to sign a new deal with Fiorentina. Implying that the Italian club may want to sell him. They’re looking for roughly €80 million for their prized asset, which is up for sale until the summer of 2023.

The striker’s worth might plunge after the season concludes. While Fiorentina is unwilling to take a blow on the possible money they could collect in the next window. Arsenal had been connected with the striker in the past. But those rumours have already died off. But currently Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are the two Premier League challengers who might try to entice him away.

Why Manchester United Must Sign Vlahovic

The Magpies are willing to pay the €80 million cost asked by Fiorentina, and incoming Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is a fan of the striker. While Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City might potentially make a bid for the Serbian if he believes he is the appropriate fit for his system.

Manchester United is the latest team to express an interest in the striker, with the club looking to secure the striker’s long-term future. They may have Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo leading the line, even though both are in their late thirties. Following which Vlahovic may be able to give a future option, which the pair does not.

The Red Devils have the financial clout to pull off a trade, however, Vlahovic’s current predicament may not convince him to accept.

In either case, Vlahovic will leave Fiorentina in January or the summer window, if the price is appropriate. While the striker will have a wealth of options to choose from as some of Europe’s best have lined up for him.
