Joshua Zirkzee subject to criticism after Manchester United Chelsea fiasco

Manchester United played host to Chelsea in the game week 10 of the Premier League. The Red Devils were looking to get back on track following the dismissal of Erik Ten Hag. They did manage to avoid a defeat. But, at the same time, they were unable to win too. Interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy had to make do with a point. But the fans won’t be very content with the performance. Especially considering the fact that the home team did take the lead first. But, they ended up conceding 5 minutes after going ahead. Joshua Zirkzee would go on to fluff his lines after coming on to the field.

Fans troll Joshua Zirkzee

The Dutchman would make an appearance for Manchester United as a substitute. He would come on from the bench and get a great opportunity to score after coming on. He found himself running in the clear. Although he was unable to keep hold of the ball for long. The 23-year-old striker would face heavy criticism after the game. Surprisingly, it was not because of his performance but due to his Instagram post. As per joe, Joshua Zirkzee would post of the same moment he ran through on goal. Fans would call him out on the same and tag him as ‘shameful‘.

Is Zirkzee right for Manchester United?

The Red Devils made a move for him this summer. Since joining, he has only scored once, on his debut, against Fulham. At the same time, he finds himself low on the pecking order behind Rasmus Hojlund. He did have a good season with Bologna last time. As per transfermarkt, he made 19 goal contributions in 37 appearances last season. But he has failed to bring his A-game to Manchester United. So there are doubts concerning his abilities as a player. Although van Nistelrooy continues to back him saying that he could be a great player for the Red Devils some day. Hopefully he will be able to live up to those expectations.
