Manchester United failed to pick up the three points as they drew 1-1 to Burnley at Turf Moor in the Gameweek 24 of the Premier League on Tuesday.

Ralf Rangnick made the decision to keep Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench and start Edinson Cavani at the top of the attack. Manchester United made a very great start to the match and pushed Burnley back early on. Raphael Varane scored his first goal for the club in the 13th minute from a Bruno Fernandes freekick. But the goal was ruled out because of Harry Maguire being offside and blocking Jay Rodriguez in the build-up.

But the Manchester club did take the lead in the 18th minute. Paul Pogba scored from a Luke Shaw pinpoint pullback pass. The red devils scored yet again just minutes later but the goal was ruled out again due to a controversial Paul Pogba foul. Nick Pope was on top form and made important saves to deny Edinson Cavani and Rashford.

Burnley took the lead early into the second half. Jay Rodriguez scored with a composed finish past David de Gea. Cristiano Ronaldo was brought on to get the winner but could not manage to have any real impact. With the draw, Manchester United drop down to 5th in the Premier League table. West Ham United move above the red devils in the league table with a 1-0 win over Watford.

Manchester United player ratings

David de Gea 6/10

David made two really important saves but could not do anything about Jay Rodriguez’s equalizer.

Diogo Dalot 7/10

The right-back looked solid defensively and made some good runs to support the attack. He did mess up a few crosses but looks like the first-choice right-back at the club.

Raphael Varane 7/10

Varane opened the scoring in the clash but the goal was ruled out. He did look very solid defensively.

Harry Maguire 4/10

It was due to his back that the Varane goal was ruled out. He also should have done a lot better for the Burnley equalizer.

Luke Shaw 7/10

A very solid performance by the left-back. Shaw assisted the Paul Pogba goal and looked a constant threat down the Burnley left flank.

Scott McTominay 5/10

He went toe to toe with Weghorst for most of the game but picked up an injury in the second half and was taken off.

Paul Pogba 7/10

The midfielder’s first Premier League goal this term. He looked on top form in the first half but fell off in the second.

Bruno Fernandes 6/10

The midfield maestro tried to make things happen in the middle of the park. He made some very good passes and switches.

Marcus Rashford 4/10

Rashford had two shots saved by Pope but did not have any real joy in the game.

Jadon Sancho 7/10

The winger looked confident for once, he had some really good touches and caused real problems for the Burnley backline.

Edinson Cavani 4/10

Should have scored but for that Pope wonder save. Did not provide any attacking threat in the second half.
