Manchester United Pre-Season 2021-22: What to expect?

The Red Devils didn’t have a great season. They fell short in the Europa League final as well as in the Premier League race. But, United won’t let that affect their goal. Ole Gunnar Solskjær has made a statement after signing Jadon Sancho and Raphaël Varane in the same window. United are more than ready to challenge for the title. Last season Manchester United did not have a pre-season that eventually affected their start of the season. This season Manchester United have planned a proper Pre-season for the squad. The introduction of the likes of Varane and Sancho have made United even stronger.

Manchester City Pre-Season fixture:

Manchester United faced Derby County in their first game of the season. Debutant Tom Heaton put in a brilliant shift between the sticks. Chong dispossessed Max Bird in a dangerous position and scored the first goal of the game. Meanwhile, Ole made lots of changes during halftime. Shola Shoretire supplied a killer through ball for Pellistri. Pellistri dribbled past the keeper and scored to make it 2-0. It was almost 3-1 when Jesse Lingard’s brilliant belter from the edge of the box hit the crossbar.

Further, United faced QPR and lost the game 4-2. The Reds did take the lead inside the opening three minutes through Jesse Lingard. Queens Park Rangers responded via Charlie Austin, before going on to score three more times in the second half courtesy of Lyndon Dykes (2) and Moses Odubajo. Anthony Elanga reduced the deficit after scoring a goal from outside the box.

Later, Manchester United hosted newly-promoted Premier League side Brentford. Anthony Elanga put United ahead with a wonderful volley assisted by Wan-Bissaka. Shandon Baptiste struck a sensational edge-of-the-box dipper to score past Heaton. Andreas Pereira scored belter after the ball was cleared by Brentford’s defender. Later, Brentford substitute Bryan Mbeumo curled home an excellent equalizer.

Upcoming Fixtures:

Meanwhile, United will face Preston away from home and Everton at home.
