However, he was unable to leave the club due to a lack of offers. Hence, decision time will again arrive in the January transfer window.
THE FUTURE OF CRISTIANO RONALDO STILL REMAINS IN DOUBT
According to reports, Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo will make a decision on his club’s future after the FIFA World Cup. The forward wanted to leave the club in the summer. He wanted to play Champions League football. However, no suitable offers arrived for him. One club from Saudi Arabia gave him a big-money offer.
However, he refused to accept the offer. Hence, he ended up staying at Manchester United. The report also claims that Ronaldo will double his efforts in January. He will try hard to leave the club. The forward is reportedly not happy with game time. Hence, his agent will try to find a new club. Chelsea were also linked with a move. However, in the end, they did not pursue the move.
MANCHESTER UNITED WILL BE HOPING THAT HE STAYS AT THE CLUB
The Red Devils will be hoping that Cristiano Ronaldo stays at the club. This is major because of the financial impact on the club. The club have lost a major income after missing out on the Champions League this season. Therefore, selling Ronaldo will have more problems for the club on the commercial side. Hence, Manchester United will try their best to keep the forward.
They will also be hoping that there are lack of offers like the summer transfer window. This is because Ronaldo is now settling well with the squad. He missed the whole pre-season because of family reasons. Hence, he currently gets game time as a substitute. However, he has started all games in the Europa League. The forward will be hoping for an uprise in the form before the World Cup.
Hence, it is essential that Manchester United gives chances to Ronaldo. There is still a chance that the owners might convince to stay this season. This is because the contract has one extra year extension which the forward will certainly activate if they get Champions League football.
