According to The Athletic, Manchester United are interested in signing Boubacar Kamara from Marseille. The French midfielder is in fine form this season and is catching the eyes of European giants. His current contract expires on June 2022 and he is willing to find a new club. While Marseille will like to get some cash rather than letting Kamara go for free.
Manchester United’s search for a defensive midfielder is still not over. Boubacar Kamara is the latest candidate to play in that position for Manchester United. The Red Devils have struggled very much this season due to the defensive mid-issue and look forward to minimizing the damage.

Boubacar Kamara has all of that and has previously displayed his qualities at Marseille. He started as a center-back but he later transitioned to a defensive midfielder. He has even excelled in that position and wants to change his club as he rejected offers from Wolves and Newscastle and is unlikely to sign a new contract.
Kamara makes 1.4 tackles per game and gives away only 0.9 fouls. Moreover, he also makes 0.6 key passes and has a pass completion rate of 89.8% in the league (stats via whoscored). He has also scored one goal in the league and has a good number of minutes under his belt. He can fill the void of a defensive midfielder at United and help the Red Devils to return back where they belong.
Manchester United will have to be quick with the signing of Boubacar Kamara as many clubs are sniffing around the Frenchman for his signature. There is very good demand for his type of players in the market. He is also running down from his contract which will make it easier for United. However, it will also make it difficult since he will attract more interest from other clubs. Signing Kamara in January will be hugely profitable to the club.
