The new Premier League season will get underway from this week. And Eric Ten Hag’s Manchester United will meet Marco Silva’s Fulham in the very first match of this season’s Premier League. The red devils are ready to challenge the Cottagers in the theatre of dreams. Eric Ten Hag is ready to return to winning form, after their defeat against Liverpool in the final pre-season friendlies, followed by the Community Shield final loss against arch-rival Manchester City.

Eric Ten Hag is hoping to give the United a perfect start in the Premier League. The Red Devils finished in the eighth position last time around, outside of any European football. That was United’s worst Premier League finish in the history of the club. However, despite finishing in the eighth position, Manchester United qualified for the Europa League thanks to their triumph over Manchester City in the FA Cup final in the last season.
But Eric Ten Hag is determined to get the new league going on a positive note. But for that, Eric Ten Hag has to beat Marco Silva’s Fulham. Fulham won two of their three pre-season friendlies, while Manchester United lost three of their five pre-season friendlies. So, it will be an interesting match to watch. But the question is what will be a possible starting lineup for United against Fulham?
The possible lineup for Manchester United against Fulham
Against Manchester City, United used no proper number nine. New signing Joshua Zirkzee was on the bench against City, while Rasmus Hojlund is out due to his injury. So, Eric Ten Hag used no proper number nine for the striker position. Bruno Fernandes was played as a false nine in that match, while Marcus Rashford and Amd Diallo started the match in both winger positions. Rashford had moments to score in the match but failed to execute them. And later on, Garnacho came on the pitch to give United the lead in the match.
Ten Hag is likely to use Amad Diallo and Garnacho both in the match against Fulham, while Marcus Rashford might miss the starting lineup. Both Garnacho and Amad Diallo are in decent form right now. Last season. Garnocho made 50 appearances for the Reds Devils and arguably he is one of the best young talents Manchester United currently has. So, Eric Ten Hag is likely to use both of them in the opening match. And Zirkzee could start for Manchester United in the number nine position.
The defense lineup is likely to remain the same with Onana in the goalkeeper position. Defending is something that Manchester United needs to improve to get good results in the Premier League. In the last match, United fans witnessed Martinez in the left-back position, which is a little unusual. As English international Luke Shaw is still out of the squad, it is expected that Martinez will start on that left side once again on August 17. And finally, Casemiro and Mainoo will not be replaced as both of them give their best.
